Centurion

One of our large Centurion-based manufacturing customers is currently looking for a glass and aluminum.

Illustrator / Estimator / Junior Manager to get started immediately / ASAP.

Salary: R20,000 – R35,000 depending on experience

Requirements:
Registration
Bilingual (Afrikaans and English, reading, writing, speaking)
Managerial experience, just like you will be managing 2 other staff members.
Driver’s license and own transportation required
Must have computer skills and can work in Starfront and AutoCAD
Must have knowledge of shop windows, curtain walls, sliding and stackable doors, chandelier accessories – indicate in CV – NOT NEGOTIABLE
Duties will include, among others:
Handling 2 other estimators / draftsman tasks and reporting to CEO weekly on performance
Costing / Bidding / Progress
Responsible for accurately calculating (Estimate) the total costs associated with a construction project or the development of a new project, for the purpose of bidding or quoting on specific projects.
Analyze and compile shop drawings and other documentation to prepare timeline, cost implications, material usage, and labor estimates.
Evaluate the profitability of products, projects or services, tracking real costs and monitoring monthly progress claims, in relation to offers as the project develops.
Consult with clients, suppliers, personnel from other departments (internal and external) or architects, engineers and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and solve problems.
Consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors about changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Prepare estimates to use in selecting suppliers or subcontractors.
Prepare cost and expense statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the life of the project.
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
Establish systems and procedures for supervision and generation of cost reports.
Establish and maintain the bidding process and conduct negotiations.

Material requirements
Prepare accurate BOMs for ordering aluminum, consumables, and glass by project.
Collect cutting sheets
Schedule when delivery of the above items is due, ensuring that cash flow is maintained and projects are not stopped.
Reconcile material requirements as variations are added or omitted from the project.
Compare existing stock with required stock and eliminate duplicate orders.
Ordering specialized items such as automatic units, top rails for stacker platforms, etc.
Make sure the shopkeeper / buyer has a clear description of the projects in progress to allow for the daily ordering of miscellaneous items.
Shop Drawings / Fabrication Drawings
Prepare accurate and complete shop drawings from engineer / architect drawings for fabrication and installation purpose.
Supervise that the deadlines are met for the presentation of drawings and with the correct information related to the specific project.
Consult with internal site managers who compare and understand site conditions or measurements to produce accurate shop drawings for the factory to build the correct items.
