GROUNDSMAN: WATER CARE REF NO: 2022/201

Requirements:

ABET, where applicable, with 0-2 years of relevant experience as a gardener
SECURITY OFFICER: SECURITY MANAGEMENT REF NO: 2022/200 (X4 POSITIONS)

Requirements:

Grade 10/ ABET level 3 plus Grade B (PSIR A), Basic communication, customer liaison, basic safety training, use of firefighting equipment, evacuation processes.
Relevant experience.
Knowledge of the legislative framework, Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Law 53 of 1985. OHSA & First Aid, basic literacy, basic communication.
Knowledge of movement of personnel within the work facilities, Being able to receive people and referring them as necessary, Basic computer skills, Basic knowledge of report writing, customer orientation, Problem solving, Courteous and friendly, Being able to present the image of the Department, High with tact and diplomacy, creativity, ability to work in a team, ability to work under pressure, hardworking, high level of integrity, excellent interpersonal skills.
You must be prepared to work abnormal work hours/shifts.
A driver’s license will be an added bonus
BOILER OPERATOR: WORKSHOP REF NO: 2022/199 (X3 POSITIONS)

Requirements:

Senior/ Grade 12 certificate and an equivalent nationally recognized steam certificate.
Machinery operation.
Interpersonal skills.
Basic literacy.
Technical skills.
Knowledge in Boiler Operation.
Occupational Health and Safety Law.
Operation of equipment, tools and materials. Knowledge of the general built environment.
HOW TO APPLY

Please note that as of January 1, 2021, DPSA approved the new Z83 application form (obtainable from any public service department); Applicants are requested to use the new application form as failure to do so will result in their application being disqualified.

The Z83 form must be signed when it is submitted. In order to streamline the contracting process so that it is more responsive to the public, as well as to create further protective measures during the pandemic by preventing overcrowding and reducing the costs incurred by applicants, such measures should include the following with respect to certification: The Ad and accompanying notes must clearly capture the requirements for certification to reflect that applicants must apply with the following attached (1) copies of transcripts, (2) ID, and (3) driver’s license (where applicable) and any other relevant documents, such copies do not need to be certified when applying for the position. Communication from the department’s human resources department regarding certified document requirements will be limited to shortlisted candidates.

Therefore, only candidates shortlisted for a position will be required to submit certified documents on or before the day of the interview, after communication from Human Resources. The employment application form (Z83) states in the “additional information” section that candidates selected for interviews will be asked to provide additional certified information that may be requested in order to make a final decision. Keep in mind that when a document is certified as a true copy of an original, the certifier only certifies that it is a true copy of the original presented. Therefore, the certification process does not provide validation of the authenticity of the original document. Validation occurs when the authenticity of documents is verified.

Regulation 67 (9) requires the executive authority to ensure that he or she is fully satisfied with claims being made and these are read with Regulations (57) (c) requiring the completion of Personnel Suitability Checks to verify claims and verify the candidate for the purpose of fitness and suitability for employment. Applications that do not comply with the above will be disqualified. If you haven’t heard from us in the next few months, please consider your application rejected.
