Job description
The Association Communications Intern will play an important role in helping the Association Unit engage and animate the Association to improve engagement using the Médecins Sans Frontières communication channels. The intern is also expected to contribute to the MSF goal of becoming more and more Association.
The role will play an important role in growing community engagement and identifying new areas of growth. The role will also play a role in developing and deploying innovative social media strategies and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Work with the association team to devise and implement evolving association marketing and keep the association website (Inside OCB), SharePoint microsite and social media sites current and complementary.
Build relationships with users by creating and sharing content with them and engaging with them on social media.
Maintain and update Inside OCB content sourced from the MSF communications network, as well as specific content produced locally for a particular purpose.
Post MSF content on identified external websites.
Design and manage promotions and Social Media advertising campaigns.
Monitor and respond to social media trends observed in a proactive manner.
Measure and report social media activity.
Respond and proactively communicate with social media users.
Follow and increase social media engagement rates.
Support other activities related to the association as needed.
Requirements:
Studies in;
communication,
marketing,
public relations,
Or similar field.
Competencies:
Good working knowledge of social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Experience in managing social media accounts and interest in developing digital communication and marketing tactics.
A strong interest in humanitarian issues.
Creative and flexible attitude and ability to work well in a team.
Proficiency in English, written and oral
A desire to collaborate on projects and teach others what you know
