Job description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand has great opportunities for logistics graduates to join the group for a 12 month internship program. The graduates will help achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Center with positions in the following areas: Dispatch, Inventory, Mezzanine, Inbound and Outbound.
Responsibilities:
Ensure optimal route and space planning to achieve daily strategic objectives.
Provide vehicle routing to ensure optimal utilization and vehicle turnaround times.
Ensure accurate records for transactional excellence.
Keep accurate records of all inventory entering and leaving the department.
Maintain the stock rotation on a stock based on the FEFO (first entry, first out) principle.
Optimize the planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the daily strategic objective determined by the number of orders in the system.
Carrying out picking, replenishment and purchasing.
Assisting in the planning of the Outbound department.
Ensure correct receipt of stock in the warehouse.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate
Diploma for:
Logistics,
Supply chain,
Transport management
Or a related field
Must be a South African citizen
Must have a clear penalty and credit record
Competencies:
Demonstrate a thorough theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of all transport and logistics and related distribution processes •
English – Reading, Writing and Speaking
Excellent communication skills
Reliable and honest
Self-starter, diligent and accurate
Attention to detail
Be deadline-oriented
Good time management skills
Economical:
2nd additional language
Knowledge of relevant EWM SAP warehouse management computer package
Valid driver’s license or reliable transport
