The aim of the Learnership remains to provide the best possible training so that these candidates can be employed immediately at the end of the training in any secretarial position. Only twelve candidates are selected annually after passing a comprehensive language, keyboard and computer skills test.
Students will receive a stipend for participating in learning.
About the program:
The course lasts for one year from March 1 to February 28 of the following year, with a mid-year exam and a rigorous final exam. The practical training takes place in all the following departments: Patents, Trademarks, Commercial and Conveyancing.
During the first 5-6 months, typing / keyboard skills are developed, with an introduction to the legal environment and working life in general. Only those learners who have excelled during this phase will be able to proceed to Phase II, which is more advanced and prepares learners for the work environment, concentrating on speed of writing, advanced audio typing, spreadsheets, and presentations as well. like other essential secretariats. skills, such as taking notes, writing letters and memos, taking initiative and responsibility, and preparing all kinds of relevant correspondence.
The best student in the course is recognized for good academic performance and for excelling in all areas of training. By representing a positive attitude, this student contributes to improving the image of Adams & Adams.
What is the content of the course?
Writing (including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint skills)
Typing speed (goal is 60 words per minute),
Basic English: Advanced Writing, Reading, Comprehension and Spelling
Spoken and written English for business purposes
Image and professional grooming

Who should apply?
Anyone with a previously disadvantaged background who is interested in becoming a secretary in the legal field, specifically in intellectual property.
You must be between 18 and 30 years old.
Grade 12 / Matric certificate with computer science studies or a post matric degree with typing or typing and MS Office applications, with a minimum of 25 words per minute
Fluency in English: both written and verbal skills are important; a C symbol (between 60% and 69%) is advantageous
Willingness to work hard and learn all you can.
