About the Learnership Programme
Sanlam Corporate is proud to offer an exciting and valuable Learnership Programme aimed at empowering South African youth, especially from designated groups, by equipping them with practical work experience, skills training, and a nationally recognized qualification.
This 12-month learnership is designed to provide young individuals with a meaningful entry point into the corporate world. It forms a critical part of our Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP), with a direct link to our long-term talent pipeline strategy. Candidates who successfully complete the programme and demonstrate outstanding performance may be considered for permanent placement within the organization in junior-level positions and will continue along a guided development path.
What the Programme Offers
Participants in the Sanlam Corporate Learnership Programme will benefit from the following:
- A 12-month fixed-term employment contract
- A monthly stipend to support living and learning expenses
- Financial assistance toward study-related costs
- National qualification: Certificate in Wealth Management (NQF Level 4)
- Practical, on-the-job work experience within a corporate setting
- Structured classroom-based learning
- Coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback
- Completion of assessments (formative and summative)
- Compilation of a comprehensive Portfolio of Evidence
- Daily logging of workplace learning activities
Key Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes
Throughout the learnership, participants will be expected to:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of Sanlam Corporate’s products, services, systems, and operational processes
- Attend scheduled training sessions and complete course modules
- Engage in workplace-based training under the supervision of experienced professionals
- Complete a Portfolio of Evidence that demonstrates learning progress and competencies
- Keep an updated logbook of all workplace activities
- Complete required assessments and demonstrate the ability to apply learning in practice
- Fulfill assigned tasks and duties in line with the learning agreement
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be unemployed at the time of application
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
- Must not hold any tertiary qualifications
- Must have completed Grade 12 (Matric) with:
- At least 50% in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- At least 50% in Accounting (if taken)
- At least 50% in English
- Must be proficient in English (verbal and written communication)
- Must be willing and committed to completing the full 12-month learnership
- Must have a clear criminal and credit record
- Must have access to reliable transport
