REQUIREMENTS: A Senior / Grade 12 certificate or Adult Education Training (AET). Good verbal, written and reading skills. Basic knowledge in the control and management of water distribution for all government water works. Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety. Basic knowledge of flood control. Basic understanding of record keeping.

DUTIES: Opening and closing of gates according to the scheme regulations. Management of the water distribution sheet according to the scheme regulations. Perform minor maintenance on structures, fences, and gates. Assist with opening blocked pipes and channels. Remove algae and weed from water in canals regularly. Perform daily inspections on the section. Report the holes in the embankments and any irregularities in the channels to the Water Control Officer. Look for cracks in measurement structures and report defects.
