Media24 is South Africa’s leading media company with interests in digital media and services, newspapers, magazines, e-commerce, book publishing, printing and distribution. It is part of Naspers, a multinational group of media and e-commerce platforms.

Always wanted to work at News24/Business Insider? Media24 has an internship at the Johannesburg or Cape Town office for a future digitally savvy journalist.

Responsibilities:

Producing stories for Media24 platforms, targeting Business Insider
Working on social media platforms in different formats.
Assisting the online team in uploading content.
Scour the web for interesting stories that our audience will love.
Assisting in compiling newsletters that our public wants to open.

Assisting the online team in producing/managing digital campaigns.
Requirements:

You have a degree in journalism
You love stories and storytelling, regardless of format and platform.
You can write like a dream, but you are also interested in digital.
You understand things like SLR, GIF, CMS and TL; DNR.
You are comfortable recording a video on a smartphone.

You are curious about the world and the people who live in it and in touch with what is happening in the world.
You are hungry to learn and grow.
Competencies:

Excellent storytelling skills, both verbally and in video format.
The ability to work quickly and handle pressure.
The ability to find a new angle on a story.
Excellent general knowledge.
Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.
The ability to work in a team and take the lead from an editor.
Drive, energy and basic awesomeness.
