Job description
The Market Theater Foundation in partnership with Yes4Youth is inviting currently unemployed young graduates to apply for the 2022 Internship Program at the Market Theater offices.
The successful candidates will be on a 12 month fixed term contract at R5000.00 p.m.
The following internship programs are open to applications:
Internship Manager Interns
Requirements
Degree/Diploma Performing Arts, relevant theater qualifications
Ability to lead and motivate a team of people in a highly stressful environment
Can work under pressure
Interns General Admin Assistant
Requirements:
Diploma in Office Admin or equivalent
Knowledge of administrative and administrative procedures
Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
People and communication skills
Ability to control a switchboard
Sound Engineer Interns
Requirements:
Diploma/Diploma in: Sound Technology/Engineering, Performing Arts
This position is suitable for a graduate sound engineer or a person with previous sound experience.
Programming signals with a mixer for a show or event.
Operation of analog or digital mixing consoles for shows and events.
Produce management trainees
Requirements:
Diploma / Ndip in Office Administration or equivalent or arts related qualification
Applicants assist Producer and Assistant Producer in the administration of quotations and contracts
computer expert
Basic accounting, communication and project management skills
Assisting the production department in drawing up and maintaining schedules
Social media interns
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of campaign management from conceptualization to execution
Awareness of the nature and role of the theater and entertainment industry.
Practical experience with social media monitoring
Ability to interpret social media traffic, impressions, audience and audience
Knowledge of online marketing
A relevant degree/diploma in marketing, brand communication, media studies.
Publicity Interns
Requirements:
Degree/Ndip in: Public Relations, Communication/Media Studies
Knowledge of marketing, social media, graphic design, theater and copywriting.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Basic administrative skills, computer skills
Trainee Public Employee & Marketing Development
Requirements:
A marketing degree or equivalent qualification is essential for this internship.
Minimum 1 year sales experience would be an advantage
Good communication skills
Goal oriented
Ability to deal with rejection.
Ability to stay calm in fast paced environments
Structured individual, with good time management
Trainee graphic designer
Requirements:
Diploma in Fine Arts, Communication, Media or a related field
knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color and other basics of graphic design
Excellent computer skills, preferably MAC
Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of video editing software,
Strong creative and analytical skills
Captivating portfolio of graphic design work
Research and Archiving Internship
Requirements:
Tertiary Qualification in Humanities (Qualification in Photography, Visual and Heritage Archives will be advantageous)
Computer skills (Mac and PC, Excel and Word, email)
Be driven and passionate about photography and the importance of archives for the future of South Africa
Able to work under pressure, unsupervised and show strong initiative
Background and understanding of arts, culture and heritage related industries will be beneficial
Intern Projects Assistant
Requirements:
Tertiary Qualification in Humanities (Qualification in Photography, Visual and Heritage Archives will be advantageous)
Computer skills (Mac and PC, Excel and Word, email)
Be driven and passionate about photography and the importance of archives for the future of South Africa
Maintenance intern
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification.
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
Basic math skills
Good communication skills
Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.
Human Resources Intern
Requirements:
Degree/Ndip in: Human Resources Management, or any other relevant
Basic knowledge of South African labor law
Responsible and able to handle confidential matters
Organized and attention to detail
Intern Supply Chain Management
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or relevant
Knowledge of customer service principles and practice
Excellent communication skills
Must be computer literate (MS Office)
Trainee technical assistant
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in: Performing Arts, Relevant Theater Qualifications
Ability to lead and motivate a team of people in a highly stressful environment
Can work under pressure
Programming signals with a mixer for a show or event.
Knowledge of sound/light.
Requirements for applicants:
21 -35 years

Certified copy of ID and affidavit stating that the applicant is currently unemployed before starting the program
Copy of CV with contact details of reference
Must have a completed degree/diploma in the relevant field for 3 years
