WORKERS POOL IN GENERAL: REGION A – G TANKS, TRAFFIC SIGNS AND TRAFFIC SIGNS, LINING TANK, FLEET AND
PLANT DEPOSIT, HIGHWAY DEPOSIT, ASPHALT AND LABORATORY (REF: 07/2021/36).
SALARY: R110 430.31 ANNUAL BASIC SALARY WITHOUT BENEFITS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SELECTION REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA
 Direct traffic around hazards or work being done on the road, establishing
traffic signs, traffic cones and barricades at workplaces in accordance with standard operation
procedures.
 Construct and / or repair concrete curbs that form an edge between the pavement and
the road.
 Work on the construction and / or repair of stormwater sidewalk entrances (KI).
 Assist crane operators in pulling concrete slabs when necessary. Make sure that
The KIs are cleaned and unlocked when necessary.
 Clean the ground channel / open channel. Clean the right tools.
 Complete all other activities on the inspection sheet.
 Respond to concerns and complaints from citizens in the workplace.
 Perform manual work according to the instructions of the standard operating procedures, including but not limited to
not limited to the following: digging trenches; clean and install sewers; remove debris from
road and shoulders; repair potholes and / or cracked and broken pavement to
patch.
 Install stormwater pipes and work on the construction and / or repair of highway manholes where
necessary. Build and / or repair speed bumps.
 Pothole and sidewalk repair. Working on tarred and / or gravel surfaces, etc.
using relevant tools and machinery. Rejuvenation.
 Deep patches and patches on the skin. Road signs. Crack sealing. Prune trees, shrubs,
and other plants; prune, cut, stack and shred vegetation; carry vegetation and others
debris; load and apply sand and gravel to roads.
 Loading and moving road materials; digging dirt and other materials, digging trenches, ripping
asphalt, install sewer pipes, fill ditches, cut the road slope,
