About the Learnership Programme

The RBS Short-Term Insurance Learnership is a comprehensive, one-year programme offered at multiple locations, including Cape Town, Gqeberha, and Johannesburg. This unique opportunity combines formal classroom-based education with practical, hands-on training in key areas of insurance such as underwriting and claims administration. As a learner, you will work closely with experienced professionals who will mentor you throughout the year, ensuring you develop the real-world skills that employers demand.

By the end of the programme, you will earn an NQF Level 5 qualification—a nationally recognised certification that will significantly enhance your employability within the insurance sector and beyond.

What You Will Gain

Who Should Apply?

This learnership is open to young South Africans who meet the following criteria:

• Between 18 and 35 years of age.
• Currently unemployed and seeking to build a career in insurance.
• Permanently residing in Cape Town, Gqeberha, or Johannesburg.
• Have completed a National Senior Certificate with a minimum of 40% in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
• Have a minimum of 40% in English (Home Language or First Additional Language).
• Applicants should not have participated in an INSETA learnership programme within the past 18 months to ensure fairness and equal opportunity.
