HOW TO APPLY
Applications indicating the relevant reference number must be submitted on the new form Z83, which can be obtained from any Department of Public Services or on the Internet at www.gov.za/documents.
Applications received with the wrong job application (old Z83) will not be considered. Each job application form must be completely filled out, properly signed and initialed by the applicant.
Failure to sign this form may result in disqualification of the application during the selection process. A recently updated full CV, as well as copies of all qualifying academic transcripts, including the Senior Certificate, identification document and a driver’s license, where applicable, must accompany a new Z83 form fully completed, initialed and signed.
Applicants must submit copies of transcripts, identification document and other relevant documents as indicated. Such copies do not need to be certified when applying for a position. Communication from the Department’s HR regarding certified document requirements will be limited to shortlisted candidates. Therefore, only candidates shortlisted for the position will be required to submit certified documents on or before the day of the interview after communication from Human Resources.
Non-RSA citizens/permanent residence permit holders must attach a copy of their permanent residence permits to their applications. If you are in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an assessment certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Applicants who do not meet the aforementioned requirements, as well as applications received after the deadline, will not be taken into account. The Department does not accept applications by fax. Failure to submit all requested documents will result in the application not being considered. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If you have not been contacted within eight (8) weeks of the closing date of this announcement, please accept that your application was unsuccessful.
Suitable candidates will be subject to a staff suitability check (criminal background, citizenship, credit background check, qualifications check, and employment verification). The Department reserves the right not to make any appointments to the above position. A pre-entry certificate obtained from the National School of Government (NSG) is required for all SMS applicants. The course is available from the NSG under the name SMS Entry Certificate and full details can be obtained by following the link below: https://www.thensg.gov.za/training-course/sms-pre-entryprogramme/. All candidates shortlisted for SMS positions will be subject to a technical proficiency exercise intended to test the relevant technical elements of the job, the logistics of which will be communicated by the Department.
Following the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend generic management competencies using the mandatory DPSA SMS competency assessment tools. The selected candidate is expected to sign an internship performance agreement. The Department is an equal opportunity affirmative action employer.
NB: Please indicate the correct job title and position reference number in the subject line of your email. Please use the correct email address associated with the post. Otherwise, your application will be disqualified.
