About the Learnership
The Traffic Officer Learnership is a structured training programme aimed at developing competent and qualified Traffic Officers. Successful candidates will undergo intensive training for a period of 12 months, focusing on various aspects of road safety, traffic law enforcement, and public interaction. This initiative is part of the Department’s strategy to improve road safety and strengthen law enforcement capacity across the province.
Duration: 12 Months
Stipend: R67,675 per annum

Learnership Locations and Vacancies
Applicants will be placed across the following five local municipalities within Limpopo:
- Capricorn District – 31 Positions
- Sekhukhune District – 33 Positions
- Mopani District – 32 Positions
- Vhembe District – 31 Positions
- Waterberg District – 27 Positions
Key Training Areas
Learners will be trained in, among other areas:
- Traffic Law Enforcement procedures
- Road safety awareness
- Accident scene management
- Professional conduct and ethical responsibilities
- Communication and public interaction skills
- Fitness and physical preparedness
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum qualification of Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- A valid Code B driving licence (manual transmission)
- Age between 18 and 35 years at the time of application
- No criminal record
- No visible tattoos that may be deemed unprofessional or inappropriate for law enforcement roles
- Medically fit to undergo strenuous physical training – proof must be provided via a medical certificate
- Must not be declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of the Firearms Control Act (Act No. 60 of 2000) or any other applicable legislation
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, on a 24/7 schedule
- South African citizenship – must submit a valid Identity Document
- Must pass a competency and driving test as part of the selection process
