Learnership 2024 Online Application
Learnerships combine workplace experience with formal training, allowing you to gain skills, earn a national qualification, and obtain real work experience. Each Learnership will have a training provider or college that provides the formal learning component. These programmes are specifically designed to assist unemployed learners in South Africa.
Learnerships For Unemployed Graduates
SETA Learnerships are always linked to a qualification, and these qualifications can be at any level on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). This means Learnerships are also suitable for graduates who have recently obtained other qualifications. The duration depends on the level of the Learnership programme, but it typically spans a one-year contract period.
Who Can Apply?
Anyone with Grade 10, Grade 12, and tertiary qualifications can apply for any position they desire within the Learnership programme. This inclusivity ensures that a wide range of individuals can benefit from the opportunity to gain skills and qualifications while also receiving practical work experience.
What Are SETA Learnerships?
A Learnership programme is a uniquely South African solution to the country’s skills development problem, addressing the shortage of skilled and trained workers in the local workforce. It is a modern version of an apprenticeship where young people undergo training through a work-based learning programme and gain valuable work experience.
Another benefit of a Learnership is that it must be linked to a formal qualification. Successful completion of the Learnership awards the learner a nationally recognized qualification.
Unlike those who gained qualifications through college or university, graduates of the Learnership will also have real-world workplace experience. The structured learning part of the Learnership programme must be delivered by an accredited training provider.
