About the Internship
Mediclinic Kimberley is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Human Resources Intern. This internship is designed as a structured developmental experience for students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world professional environment.
The purpose of this internship is to provide an integrated learning experience that connects classroom education with practical, on-the-job training. Interns will be given the opportunity to develop key professional competencies, enhance their understanding of human resources practices, and gain exposure to a dynamic healthcare environment.
This internship is ideally suited for individuals currently completing their studies through a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college and who require work-integrated learning to fulfill their qualification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern in the Human Resources department, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in all aspects of work-integrated learning as outlined in your TVET qualification.
- Assisting the Human Resources team with administrative tasks and day-to-day operations.
- Supporting efforts to maintain effective stakeholder relationships and providing excellent client service.
- Demonstrating personal effectiveness by proactively seeking learning opportunities and maintaining a commitment to professional standards.
- Gaining exposure to Mediclinic’s organisational values, HR policies, and workplace culture.
- Developing workplace competencies that align with your field of study and long-term career objectives.
This internship is intended to be both educational and practical, giving the selected candidate the opportunity to understand the inner workings of a professional HR department within a healthcare organisation.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have completed relevant N6-level coursework from an accredited TVET institution.
- Fields of study considered for this internship include:
- Human Resources
- Marketing
- Finance
- Management Assistant
- Secretarial Studies
Experience:
- No prior work experience is required for this position. The internship is intended for entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and grow professionally.
Skills and Competencies
To be considered for this internship, applicants should demonstrate the following:
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal communication)
- Basic computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- A professional telephone manner and understanding of telephone etiquette
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and receive feedback constructively
