What the Learnership Programme Involves

Participants in the programme will receive comprehensive training that covers both theoretical learning and workplace-based experience. This includes:

  • Instruction on the proper procedures for loading and off-loading freight from commercial vehicles
  • Ensuring vehicles are prepared and compliant with safety and legal standards before transit
  • Management of freight documentation such as dispatch notes, waybills, invoices, and delivery records
  • Performing various warehouse functions, including stock control, order picking and packing, and verifying inventory levels
  • Learning how to stack, secure, and transport goods efficiently and safely
  • Exposure to the operational aspects of deliveries, collections, and warehouse housekeeping
  • Classroom-based learning aligned with SAQA-registered unit standards
  • Ongoing support through mentorship and regular assessment to ensure understanding and skill application

Who Should Apply?

This learnership is intended for motivated individuals who meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be between the ages of 23 and 35 years
  • Must hold a minimum qualification of Grade 12, NQF Level 2, or TVET N3 (with at least 40% in both English and Mathematics)
  • Must be in good health and medically fit to perform physical tasks
  • Must be proficient in both written and spoken English
  • Must be numerically literate and capable of handling basic arithmetic related to freight and stock
  • Willingness to work on weekends and during shift hours
  • Must have a clear criminal record
  • Must reside in or near one of the following areas: Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, or Johannesburg
  • Must be available for full-time training and work from 08:00 to 18:00

  • Basic computer literacy (e.g., familiarity with using a computer or mobile device for record keeping or communication)
  • Any prior experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or transport environment

  • Location: Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town (depending on your area of residence)
  • Stipend: R4,000 per month to assist with travel and living expenses
