About the Internship
This internship is hosted at the IEC Gauteng Provincial Office, where the selected candidate will work closely with experienced logistics and supply chain professionals. Over a two-year period, the intern will be immersed in a structured learning environment tailored to introduce graduates to the fields of:
- Logistics and distribution
- Supply chain and procurement practices
- Electoral and operational planning
Through day-to-day involvement in electoral logistics and administrative activities, the intern will develop a comprehensive understanding of how elections are supported at the provincial and national levels.
Core Responsibilities
Interns will have the opportunity to perform and learn from a variety of tasks and projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the coordination and execution of inbound and outbound logistics, including the receiving and dispatching of election materials
- Assisting in the procurement process and monitoring supplier performance and delivery schedules
- Participating in inventory management and warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
- Contributing to logistical planning and implementation for by-elections and other electoral events
- Assisting with documentation and administrative support, such as minute-taking, record-keeping, and reporting
- Preparing presentations and performance reports for internal use
- Managing filing systems and contributing to the efficiency of operational workflows
- Gaining exposure to financial and administrative tasks associated with logistics in a constitutional institution

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be 35 years of age or younger
- Must not have previously participated in any internship, learnership, or formal work experience related to their field of study
- Must hold a Matric Certificate (Grade 12 / N3 / NQF Level 4)
- Must have successfully completed a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- Procurement

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
