Lancet Laboratories, a trusted name in diagnostic pathology services, is expanding its team and currently seeking dedicated and dependable individuals to fill eight Courier positions across various regions in South Africa. About the Role

As a Courier for Lancet Laboratories, your core responsibility will be ensuring the secure, timely, and professional collection and delivery of medical specimens, reports, and other laboratory-related items. You will be a key part of the service chain that enables accurate and prompt diagnosis, ultimately contributing to patient care across the country.

This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Route Planning: Organise and review delivery and collection tasks to map out the most efficient routes each day.
• Specimen Transport: Collect and deliver medical specimens, reports, and supplies between laboratories, doctors, and other healthcare clients with a focus on punctuality and safety.
• Proof of Delivery: Ensure documentation is completed and signed for every collection or delivery to maintain an auditable trail for tracking and accountability purposes.
• Data Recording: Scan all specimens and delivery documents using the Courier Management Programme to maintain up-to-date records and traceability.
• Asset Care: Safeguard all company assets including vehicles, fuel cards, uniforms, and courier equipment. Promptly report any faults or irregularities to the management team.
• Safety Compliance: Always wear appropriate protective equipment and strictly adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure personal and public safety during transportation of medical materials.
• Incident Reporting: In case of any accidents or operational issues, complete and submit detailed reports for insurance and safety evaluations.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep courier vehicles clean, report any mechanical concerns, and respond appropriately to any hazardous spills in accordance with internal quality and safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of Grade 10 with 2-3 years relevant working experience, or
• At least 10 years of verifiable courier experience if formal education does not extend to Grade 12
• A valid South African Driver’s Licence
• A Grade 12 certificate or an NQF Level 4 qualification will be an added advantage
