About the Programme
This 12-month internship is designed to provide selected candidates with a comprehensive learning experience that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. You will be embedded in a professional environment where collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning are encouraged.

Programme Start and Duration
- Start Date: 1 October 2025
- End Date: 30 September 2026
- Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
- Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week), onsite
Key Responsibilities and Learning Areas
Throughout the internship, you will:
- Participate in real-time projects that contribute directly to Caterpillar’s business goals.
- Gain insight into global operations and the role South Africa plays in the company’s broader African and international strategy.
- Work closely with teams across departments including digital transformation, marketing, sales, product development, and customer service.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies that drive growth.
- Deliver analytical assessments, reports, and presentations that inform strategic decision-making.
- Receive personalised mentorship and support from industry experts.
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and team-building activities designed to enhance both technical and soft skills.
Who Should Apply

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must possess a valid passport (valid through at least September 2026)
- Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Willing and able to travel locally and internationally, if required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Office 365
- Must have completed at least one prior internship and/or have 1–2 years of professional work experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and communicate clearly
Preferred Academic Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Strategy, or a related field
Preferred Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- A passion for customer-centric thinking and sustainable innovation
