Position Overview
The primary responsibility of an Armed Response Officer is to patrol assigned areas and promptly respond to alarm signals and incidents reported through our monitoring centre. Officers are expected to ensure the safety of our clients and their property while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and vigilance.
This role demands individuals who are alert, quick-thinking, and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Your presence will serve as both a deterrent and a first line of defense against potential threats.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum of Grade 10 education
- PSIRA Grade C certification with Armed Response (AR) registration
- Valid and up-to-date Firearm Competency Certificate
- A valid South African driver’s license held for a minimum of 2 years
- Completion of Master Drive training or equivalent advanced driving skills
- Good working knowledge of the area you will be patrolling
Key Responsibilities and Duties
As an Armed Response Officer, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Conducting regular patrols in designated areas and responding swiftly to alarm activations and emergencies
- Familiarising yourself thoroughly with your assigned area, routes, and client premises
- Ensuring quick and efficient response times in line with management’s standards
- Utilizing the most effective and direct routes to reach incidents and client locations
- Building a strong understanding of each client’s property layout and security needs
- Following up with clients after incidents to offer support and ensure client satisfaction
- Handling client concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy
- Conducting introductory and goodwill visits to new clients to establish trust and communication
- Checking premises thoroughly during responses and prioritizing the client’s safety and well-being
- Maintaining open and respectful communication with clients, offering updates where necessary
- Adhering strictly to uniform and grooming standards, and participating in daily parades as part of operational readiness
- Completing daily and weekly vehicle inspections using prescribed checklists to ensure all equipment and vehicles are in optimal condition
- Submitting comprehensive and accurate incident reports as required
- Following all radio and communication protocols, ensuring accurate and timely information sharing
- Maintaining cleanliness and order in your designated workstation or vehicle at all times
- Attending scheduled meetings, briefings, and ongoing training programs to stay current with operational procedures and industry standards
- Demonstrating full understanding and application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Exercising discretion and avoiding the misuse of company property, including telephones and vehicles
- Acting as a visible and approachable security presence in the community, fostering trust and rapport with the public
