Applications are now OPEN for the South African National Parks (SANParks) Tourism Monitors Programme – a 7-month initiative by the Department of Tourism in partnership with SANParks.

This programme offers theoretical training and hands-on experience, with successful candidates deployed to nearby national parks and tourism sites. It forms part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

Who Can Apply?

Unemployed South African citizens (with valid SA ID)

Aged 18–35

Hold a matric certificate or equivalent

Studied tourism/environmental fields? That’s a plus!

Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Live within 40–100km of a participating site or national park

Have your own transport (accommodation may be provided if far from gate)

Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends & holidays

Passionate about tourism and eager to grow in the sector

Contract Duration: 7 months

Stipend: R200 per day
