AgriSETA Internship Programme 2025 – Now Open for Applications

The Agriculture Sector Education and Training Authority (AgriSETA) is inviting applications for its 2025 Internship Programme. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about skills development, administration, and making a meaningful impact in South Africa’s agricultural workforce.

AgriSETA plays a pivotal role in facilitating education, training, and skills development within the agriculture sector. As part of its mandate, the organisation works to identify skills gaps, develop relevant qualifications, and ensure quality learning opportunities are made accessible to support growth and transformation in the industry.

Internship Overview

AgriSETA is offering a 24-month fixed-term internship opportunity for the role of Learning Programmes Administrator within its Learning Programmes and Projects Division. The internship is designed for unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in any internship programme. This position will provide comprehensive exposure to various aspects of programme administration, stakeholder engagement, financial coordination, and compliance monitoring.

The internship is based at the AgriSETA Head Office in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern in the Learning Programmes and Projects Division, you will support the team in delivering high-quality services and maintaining efficient programme operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Learning Programme Administration

  • Capturing and verifying discretionary grant applications submitted by stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all documentation submitted is complete and compliant with set criteria.
  • Participating in the evaluation and assessment of grant applications.
  • Uploading approved projects to relevant systems and maintaining updated digital records.
  • Tracking signed contracts and learner registration forms.
  • Registering learners on relevant systems prior to commencement of training and communicating registration outcomes to stakeholders.

2. Payment and Financial Processing

  • Receiving, verifying, and capturing invoices related to learning programme implementation.
  • Ensuring payments are made in accordance with contractual deliverables and timelines.
  • Submitting payment documents to the Finance Department and following up on payment progress.
  • Maintaining a detailed register of all financial documents received and submitted.

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Support

  • Offering a professional and responsive service to both internal teams and external stakeholders including learners, employers, and training providers.
  • Providing guidance and clarification on programme requirements, documentation, and procedures.
  • Responding to queries related to application status, compliance issues, or payment processes.

4. Audit Preparation and Compliance

  • Preparing validated documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensuring all records are properly filed, accurate, and readily available.
  • Supporting the team in maintaining compliance with audit standards to prevent recurring audit findings.

5. Reporting and General Administration

  • Assisting in the compilation of weekly and monthly reports related to project budgets, learner registration status, and progress tracking.
  • Gathering data and generating statistics required for programme evaluation and improvement.
  • Supporting the team with general administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • A National Senior Certificate (Matric).
  • An N6 Certificate in Management Assistance, Public Management, or a similar relevant field.
  • Must be currently unemployed and have no previous work experience.
  • South African citizenship is required.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and a customer-focused approach.
