Nampak Learnership Programme for Trainee Production Operators – 2025 Intake
Nampak, South Africa’s largest and most prominent manufacturer of beverage cans, is pleased to announce the launch of its 2025 Learnership Programme for Trainee Production Operators. This structured learning opportunity is designed for young South Africans who are eager to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
This learnership is conducted in partnership with Optimum Learning Technologies and offers 48 dynamic and ambitious individuals the chance to participate in a formal training programme that leads to a nationally recognised qualification – the NQF Level 3 Occupational Certificate in Production Operations.
The programme will officially commence on the 1st of October 2025, and successful candidates will report directly to an Operational Technical Trainer. Over the course of 12 months, learners will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical on-the-job experience while being immersed in real manufacturing processes.
About the Learnership
Participants will undergo formal classroom-based training as well as structured workplace learning. This dual approach ensures learners develop a comprehensive understanding of production operations while acquiring the practical skills required to function effectively in a real-world industrial setting.
The training will take place at Nampak’s state-of-the-art facility in Springs, Gauteng, and will involve hands-on exposure to production equipment, processes, and procedures used in the manufacturing of metal packaging.
During the programme, learners will be expected to:
- Participate fully in all theoretical and practical training modules.
- Shadow experienced employees and receive mentorship from qualified production staff.
- Rotate between various functional roles to promote cross-training and skills development.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety protocols and adhere to all company health and safety regulations.
- Show initiative, responsibility, and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced demands of the plant environment.
This is a valuable opportunity to gain entry into one of South Africa’s most respected manufacturing companies, opening doors to potential long-term employment and further career development in the industrial and technical sectors.
