Sales internship
Company: Distell Limited
Applications are invited for the positions listed above in the Southern Africa Sales Department, based at our Port Elizabeth Distribution Center in the Eastern Cape. The successful incumbent will report to the appropriate Sales Manager.
Purpose of the position:
The intention is to give practical work experience to students who have just graduated, but are unemployed and require exposure in a work environment, or those in their final year of study who require In-Service Training to earn their degree. Successful interns are expected to sign a 12-month contract beginning February 1, 2022 and ending January 31, 2023
Key learnings would include, but are not limited to, the following:
Persuasive Sales Negotiations and Skills – Ability to persuade customers to buy products or to increase sales and to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
Sales Business Insights – Knowledge and understanding of the implications of critical business implications in day-to-day decisions.
Sales process management: understanding the main key drivers of sales across different channels
Knowledge of the sales product: the relevance of the product by channel, cluster and level is understood and applied.
Sales strategies and plans to sustain brand growth: Has knowledge of the strategic sales planning process at Distell and understands all components that impact brand growth and sales.
Sales technology application: understanding how technology works within the sales process
To qualify for selection and participation in this program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
The candidate must need the internship to complete their qualification, i.e. national diploma
Good decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills.
Analyze and generate valuable information from numbers and data
Ability to work in cross-functional groups within the business unit.
Oriented to results and objectives, always able to meet deadlines.
Willingness to learn and make a difference.
Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure.
Capacity for teamwork.
The driver’s license is essential.
South African citizen.

Certified academic record
Certified copy of grade 12 certificate
A letter from the college.
An evaluation format, required by the tertiary institution.
