Applications are invited for the above vacancy within Newzroom Afrika. The owner will report to the Manager: Programming and Research.
Role purpose
The Programming Research Assistant role supports the research and programming team on day-to-day deliverables. The function will ensure that the daily schedule shows changes in FPC (Final Program Chart) and EPG (Electronic Program Guide).
Key responsibilities:
Update daily schedule, show changes in FPC (Final Program Chart) and EPG (Electronic Program Guide).
When the promotion team sends out promotions, make sure they are on Pebble’s FTP, then ask MCR to copy them to the main Pebble folder and back up the Stingray folder before TX.
Newzroom Afrika sends reports on all commercials on a daily and weekly basis to internal and multi-select staff.
Follow up with the producers of each new EPG show or feature for a synopsis and get approval from the chief marketing officer before submitting EPG synopses.
Remind Eps about the L boards by texting or calling them to make sure they fly on time.
Deliver daily reports and metadata (tracking what was happening on the other news channels).
Monitoring of the live performance of all programs.
Update the birthday list.
Reports if the L tables flew daily.
Requirements
Bachelor of Administration or equivalent
Proven experience as a programmer / researcher
Ability to work with large teams and function independently;
