- VACANT JOB OPPORTUNITY * PRODUCTION MANAGER – BOTANICAL HORTICULTURE Apply Agriculture, Western Cape Stellenbosch Area Stellenbosch area? This is a senior position MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Agricultural degree in horticulture or similar Minimum of 10 years of previous experience in flora cultivation. Proven experience in plant propagation. Proven experience working and running a greenhouse Computer literate Duties that include but are not limited to: The production manager must plan, initiate and control the entire nursery production and maintenance plan. Knowledge of Hot House: propagation, cuttings, seeds, etc. Establish and control the monthly production plan. Manage the stock control of the nursery. Make sure the quality of the stock is always kept at a salable level. Make sure the nursery and surroundings are maintained and cared for, this includes handling all pest control measures. Management of irrigation system and computer. Manage all labor and production equipment. Make sure all personnel are trained to perform their specific tasks efficiently, correctly, and safely. Staff disciplinary action Research new varieties of plants each year to ensure stock growth. Make sure, as much as possible, to maintain all fixed and overhead structures in the nursery, as cash flow permits. Make sure that the expenses in the budget allocations for the various cost centers stay within the budgeted parameters. Head of health and safety of the company Make sure all royalty payments are made and rates are kept up to date. KPA requirements Production: monthly report of stocks that will be established as a goal with% of the level of stocks for the nursery. Based on a level 1 – 5. Production schedule based on the achievement of the monthly planner. Quality based on a monthly nursery tour. Administrator: All stock must be up to date and accurate on the computer. All invoices must be submitted for funding in a timely manner. Security and training of all personnel to follow the course.
