Position Summary:

The program facilitator will implement the DREAMS Let’s Talk program at the site level, provide daily support to AGYW and its caregivers, and link them to other services through referrals. Program facilitators will be responsible for referrals to individual AGYWs and their caregivers through PEPFAR DREAMS partners, ensuring that all beneficiaries access the comprehensive care package as well as the layered interventions provided by the partners.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Engage local community partners to support the identification of potential beneficiaries (AGYW) and their caregivers
Manage girls’ risk index with participants to identify girls and young women most at risk for support through the program
Facilitate Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Let’s Talk parenting program for girls and young women and their caregivers
Implementation of agreed SOPs to improve bidirectional referrals, prioritizing:
Referral to other DREAMS interventions, namely EDC, CCI (Stepping Stones), NACOSA (Impower), FHI360 (Safe Space and Economic Empowerment), Health Interventions (WITSRHI)
Referral to GCBS Comprehensive Care Package that emphasizes referrals to access:
HOMEWORK
Reproductive Sexual Health
HIV risk assessment and testing
HIV Disclosure and Compliance Support
Access to education
Access to social assistance
Response to gender violence
Participate in district DREAMS implementing partner forums to improve implementation, as required by the Supervisor.
Participate in community meetings with local DSD, DOH, and NPOs to strengthen referral systems for AGYW, including implementation of standard operating procedures in support of referrals.
Education and experience required

Social Assistant Worker Certificate.
1-2 years of experience in the child protection sector or as a facilitator
Experience in facilitating similar social behavior change programs will be preferred.
Previous experience working with or within the South African government, preferably with DSD or similar agency.
Knowledge of participatory training approaches and methods.
Strong team player with the ability to motivate people to participate in the program.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Total competence in computing.
You must be a South African citizen fluent in the local language, Essential Sesotho, and you should also preferably understand English.
Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals.
A valid driver’s license is preferred.
