The Digby Wells Environmental Education Trust invites students to apply for their scholarship program for the 2022 academic year. Scholarships are available for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, within these fields:

Aquatic Health (BSc)
Botany (BSc)
Environmental Sciences (BSc)
Geography (BSc)
Hydrogeology (BSc)
Hydrology (BSc)
Soil Science (BSc)
Zoology (BSc)
The scholarship covers the following costs:

tuition fees,
Book allowance and
A laptop.
Students initiated into the business also receive the following benefits:

Paid holiday work,
on-site exposure,
practical training,
Continuous guidance by experienced employees, and
After graduation, a job offer.
Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria before applying (please note that if you do not meet all the requirements, your application will not be considered):

You must be a South African citizen
You must have completed Matric
You must have obtained at least 60% for English in Matric
You must have obtained a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics in Matric
You must have obtained at least 60% for Physical Science in Matric
You must have strong academic potential
You must be studying or intend to study full-time, towards one of the above-mentioned BSc qualifications (undergraduate or postgraduate)
You must be studying or planning to study at a recognized university in South Africa
You must be planning to pursue a career within the environmental and social services industry
You must have a passion to work outdoors
You have to want to make a difference for the environment
You must be highly motivated and committed to your studies
Preference may be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (submission of these documents is required – if any items are missing your application will be ignored):

ID document (certified copy)
Matric final results or Matric certificate (certified copy)
Study results June/July 2021 or latest results if not studying this year (certified copy)
Full academic record, if currently at tertiary level (certified copy)
Proof of University registration/provisional acceptance
Letter of Recommendation (NOT from a family member or relative)
Testimony from an education officer (on the application form)
Essay (on the application form)
