Welcome to Retail Retreat, our client Ackermans invite unemployed people who meet all the relevant criteria to apply for distribution centre learnership programme
The Ackermans distribution centre learnership opportunity will provide you with a real-world understanding of Ackermans, as you are guided and supported during the 12 months.
The programme integrates practical and theory and includes both structured distribution centre work experience and structured learning with an accredited training provider – leading to an SAQA accredited qualification.
What to expect from the programme:
- Fixed term employment with Ackermans for 12 months

- SAQA accredited qualification
- Practical meaningful distribution centre workplace experience

Responsibilities:
This position will be based at our Distribution Centres and will report directly to the Departmental Supervisor.
- Be exposed to the Retail Industry/ distribution centre.
- Explore your interests and gain working knowledge of future career possibilities.
- Develop your work ethic and corporate brand.
- Build relationships that will stand your future in good stead.
- Ensure daily production units are processed effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure all tasks are completed as per standard operation procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to the Health and Safety Policy and that all deviations are addressed timeously.
- Participate in and take ownership of 5S in the workplace.
- Ensure participation within the departmental teams and the DC team.
- Awareness of the cost implications within the DC environment.
- Ability to manage oneself according to the company value system.
- Fill your toolkit with skills to equip you for your career.

Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen.
- Be able to speak, read and write English.
- Have completed/ passed Grade 10
- Age 18-35
- Should be unemployed.
- Should not be studying during the learnership period.
- Should not be linked or registered to any learnership Programme.
